That said, if you are considering Trustly for crypto deposits, it’s worth noting that this payment route is not broadly supported by most crypto platforms. For the most part, you’ll have to explore alternative routes, such as cards and bank transfers, or connect Trustly to e-wallets like PayPal or Skrill. 

How to Buy Bitcoin & Crypto with Trustly

At the moment, CEX.IO does not accept Trustly as a direct payment method. However, this does not mean Trustly users are out of alternatives. If you rely on Trustly for everyday payments, you may be able to connect your bank account to services like Skrill or PayPal (available only to U.S.-based customers). Availability depends on your region and the payment routes supported by your chosen service.

How to Buy Bitcoin at CEX.IO: a Step-by-Step Guide

Since Trustly is not supported directly on CEX.IO, the most intuitive way to acquire crypto on our platform is via credit or debit card using Instant Buy.

That said, if you prefer using Trustly for everyday payments, you may still access CEX.IO indirectly. Depending on your location, you can link your Trustly-supported bank account to services like Skrill, then use Skrill as your funding method on CEX.IO.

Step 1: Link Trustly with Skrill

To use this route, start by setting up a Skrill account and linking it to your bank through Trustly, where available. Skrill connects to your bank account and allows you to move funds without using cards. Make sure your Skrill account is fully verified and funded before continuing. This setup allows you to use Skrill as an intermediary payment method when buying crypto on CEX.IO.

Step 2: Create and Confirm Your CEX.IO Account

Next, register on CEX.IO using your email address and create a secure password. To unlock Instant Buy and supported payment methods, complete identity verification. This process confirms your personal details and helps keep transactions secure. 

Ensure that the email address used for your CEX.IO account matches the one registered with Skrill, as transfers between accounts with different emails are not supported.

Step 3: Open Instant Buy and Set Up Your BTC Purchase

You can buy crypto with a bank account and top up your CEX.IO wallet using bank transfers and then use those funds to acquire crypto. We support SEPA, SWIFT, and Faster Payments, depending on your location. 

After your fiat balance is credited, you can exchange it for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies using Spot Trading or CEX.IO Convert, which allows straightforward fiat-to-crypto exchanges without trading interfaces.

Buy Crypto with Google Pay and Apple Pay

If you prefer not to enter card details at checkout, you can link your card to Google Pay or Apple Pay and use these wallets instead. You can complete purchases through the web platform or the CEX.IO App.

Buy Crypto with PayPal

U.S.-based users cannot fund their CEX.IO accounts via bank transfers. However, they can buy crypto with Morgan Stanley Private Bank, JPMorgan, Citibank, or Wells Fargo cards, along with cards issued by other major U.S. banks. 

As an alternative, eligible users can buy Bitcoin with PayPal (for U.S.-based customers only). In some cases, users may also link Trustly with PayPal and fund their purchase that way, depending on availability and regional support.
